Your visit to Tenerife is the perfect opportunity to start getting in shape, continue with your usual pace of training or relax your mind.

Holidays are a perfect time to rest, to reconnect with ourselves and to take care of ourselves in every way. The ways to do this are probably infinite: each person knows which way suits them best according to their tastes and preferences.

If, by chance, your holiday destination happens to be Tenerife, the number of options multiplies. The island is full of routes and trails to explore, either on foot or by bicycle, enjoying the great indigenous beauty that stretches from the summit of Mount Teide to the endless beaches where you can enjoy sea sports such as scuba diving, sailing, kayaking…

If you are staying at Baobab Suites *****, the hotel located in Costa Adeje, Tenerife South, which has always been known for offering its guests a different, profound and exclusive experience, the possibilities are even greater. The hotel has a whole series of services aimed at supporting the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of its guests, something that is in itself the philosophy of the establishment, the hallmark of the house.

Actívate Sports Club

Undoubtedly, one of the nerve centres of this philosophy is embodied in the Activate Sports Club, a special outdoor sports area for the whole family to enjoy. The club is far from being a simple gym, but has facilities and services specially designed to meet all the needs of the Baobab Suites client.

“Activate Sports Club is an outdoor centre with wonderful facilities where users and guests can train, while enjoying the views of the mountains, in both calisthenics and functional training,” says Paola Daniela Álvaro, the centre’s sports director. “The vast majority of our group classes are also held outdoors.

Among the services that Paola highlights the most, and that differentiate this centre from all the others on the island, is “the possibility of creating small groups of up to a maximum of 6 people, which the user can book at any time with a personal trainer. The attention is totally personalised and the club focuses both on their training needs and on re-education in healthy eating, which contributes to a more sustainable and healthy life for our users in the future”.

Many other activities are available at the centre, such as aerial yoga, paddle tennis on one of the four available courts, and volleyball and beach football in the sandy area, which has two courts for these activities, as well as games for the children.

Pilates

Perhaps one of the most popular activities at the club are the Pilates sessions carried out in collaboration with Ana Lozano Pilates Studio, a centre created in 2005 by two of the best and most experienced professionals of the method in the Canary Islands: Ana Lozano and Yanina Ialorenzo. “We have a group of professionals with state-of-the-art reformer tables, where we provide a postural control and toning service for the deep muscles of the body, which will allow us to be stronger when performing any other activity and, in general, to prevent injuries and have a correct posture”, explains Paola.

As if all this were not enough, the centre’s services are constantly evolving, incorporating more options to satisfy hotel guests even more, if possible. A good example of this is the new proposal that will be presented on 14 April with an open day: Ballet Fit, a choreographic activity that combines classical ballet and fitness exercises and promotes cardiovascular work, toning, strength, balance, flexibility and joint mobility.

Ballet Fit

Ballet Fit was created in 2007 by dancer and Physical Education graduate Gloria Morales. Since then, the activity has been practised throughout Spain and in various countries such as Italy, Switzerland, Chile and Saudi Arabia, among others. As well as helping to correct our posture, increase our elasticity and tone and lengthen our muscles, Ballet Fit provides more resistance, reduces stress and its practice is liberating, as it increases our self-esteem and our mental health.

Ballet Fit, therefore, completes an already wide range of physical exercise specially designed for the clients of Baobab Suites *****, and allows them to try something new and fun.

And after exercising, a bit of relaxation never hurts. To this end, at Baobab Suites you can also enjoy the Nirama Wellness Centre, where you can receive massages and therapies based on Ayurveda, a traditional and alternative medicine originating from the Indian subcontinent, and other treatments such as aromatherapy, something that is sure to round off an unforgettable holiday in the Canary Islands.
