Relax to the rhythms of the best chill out music around this summer
Tanned skin, sand, sun, mojitos, the Atlantic…yep, the holidays are here! The arrival of the summer sees temperatures rise and productivity decrease, which is why it’s the perfect time to take a much-needed break. If you’re lucky enough to spend them in a place as privileged as Tenerife, don’t miss the chance to visit one (or eight!) of the best beach bars and clubs on the island. You don’t know which ones? No worries, we’ll tell you their names, where they are and even what to look out for at each of them. Sunglasses on, a cocktail in one hand and a book in the other – perfect. Now you’re ready for one of the chicest holiday experiences going.
You may well have already visited Fañabé beach and felt more than a little bit envious watching the people lying around on their gorgeous white Balinese beds. Next time you visit this crowded beach, why not add a touch of exclusivity to your day and soak up the sun to the musical rhythms of some of the coolest DJs? After a lovely dip in the ocean you can try some of their delicious international dishes or order yourself a cocktail to give the perfect finishing touch to your dream holidays.
The nearest beach bar to the hotel of our seven is Coqueluche, hugely popular with tourists and locals alike, which really isn’t surprising when you take into account the wonderful, relaxed vibe found here. The already charming village of La Caleta is made even more so thanks to this rustic beach bar, where not only can you enjoy some delicious squid and a refreshing mojito but also listen to fabulous live music. After a busy day visiting Teide and other wonders of the island, can you think of a better way to spend the afternoon than here watching a beautiful sunset over the ocean? Neither can we.
No visit to the lovely village of El Médano is complete without stopping off at La Tejita beach, a protected natural area frequented by tourists, locals and nudists. At the end of the promenade you’ll find the very rustic Chiringuito Pirata, perfect for those days when you really don’t feel like carting the blue plastic cool box to the beach and prefer to have something tasty for lunch without spending too much. Don’t leave without checking out the blackboard, famous locally for its cheerful quotes promoting good, happy vibes.
Kaluna Beach Club
This modern beach club is situated between the beaches of Puerto Colón and Torviscas. Here you can watch how the crowds try to find their spot on the sand while you raise a glass of champers and toast to a wonderful holiday from your super comfortable sunbed. What, you feel like cooling off? Well, one option would be to go for a swim in the chilly ocean or, better still, why not take a dip in the spectacular infinity pool – you choose. And if you really want to go for it, don’t miss the Infinity Pool Party that takes place every Thursday.
After a relaxing day spent on the beach or by the pool, we recommend you go for a nice walk along the beach promenade in Playa de Las Américas. Too much effort? OK, well in that case skip the walking part and head directly to Akustito Cocktail, a quirky, original beach bar where you can finish the day just as relaxed as how you were when you started it. Although it’s well known for its piña coladas, mojitos and super friendly staff, what will really leave you awestruck is the spectacular sunset you can enjoy. On top of that there’s also the welcoming atmosphere, partly down to the people who go there and also thanks to the live music.
Monkey Beach Club
If you don’t fancy leaving Las Américas but want to spend a pleasant afternoon relaxing with a drink or two, or even enjoy dinner next to the ocean in a sophisticated and tropical atmosphere, head to Monkey Beach Club. Located on one of the most popular beaches in the south of Tenerife, Playa de Troya, it’s one of the island’s trendiest beach clubs and home to summer’s best beach parties. If you’re more of a quiet dinner person than a daytime party-goer, you’ll find a wide menu full of international, local and vegetarian dishes. With live music and a selection of DJ sessions, you’re bound to want to dance at some point or another…
If you’re on holiday with your partner and want to surprise him or her with something romantic plan, there’s nothing better than enjoying a delicious cocktail on Camisón beach as you watch the sun set on the ocean horizon. The atmosphere is relaxed but with a touch of elegance that makes it perfect for an unforgettable date. If you want to make it extra special, what could be better than staying to enjoy a delicious moonlight dinner? During those warm summer nights you’ll really appreciate the gentle sea breeze that will make the cocktail’s job of refreshing you even more important before you take a pleasant stroll along one of the most picturesque parts of south Tenerife’s coastline.
A quiet, modern beach club during the daytime, ideal for a morning coffee or mid-afternoon beer, turns into one of the liveliest, trendiest places to be as night falls. Situated on Troya beach, Papagayo Beach Club is right in the heart of one of the island’s party-going meccas, guaranteeing you a fantastic night out accompanied by music from some of the best-known DJs in Spain. Bearing in mind that Papagayo serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, you may just consider staying all day. One thing’s for sure: hiring a private booth on the upper floor, watching the sun go down and enjoying a night of incredible music and a buzzing atmosphere will be an experience you won’t forget in a hurry.
