Wine tour in Tenerife is a way of getting to know the essence of our island, the flavour of our land and the quality of our vineyards at first hand. A different kind of holiday for experts or newcomers to the subject or a way of complementing your stay in the Canary Islands in a different style. Getting to know the wineries and the types of grapes of each place we visit is a way of understanding the peculiarities of its people and the importance of such an iconic drink as wine. 7000 years accompanying human beings in their sorrows and joys, wine, always taken in moderation, is the history of mankind.
Wine tourism has emerged in recent decades with the aim of promoting the wine-growing wealth of areas such as the Canary Islands. Restaurants, hotels, guides and cultural agents are joining forces to offer a powerful tourist alternative and provide the islands with yet another attraction for their visitors,
Tenerife has five denominations of origin: Abona, La Orotava, Tacoronte-Acentejo, Valle de Güímar and Ycoden-Daute-Isora, which speaks of the great variety of wines that can be produced on our island. The first vines arrived in the Canary Islands in the 16th century and adapted perfectly to the different soils and microclimates of Tenerife. Vineyards adapted easily and varied according to the different areas. The volcanic soil did the rest, producing wines with very special variants.
