Exercise and Healthy Breakfast: Baobab Suites' New Sports and Gastronomic Offer

Everything at Baobab Suites***** is geared towards that goal, from the hotel's location and architecture to the services we offer. The needs of our visitors change, which is why we are constantly renewing our services to continue offering what they need and seek for their well-being. Today, we want to tell you about two of them. 

 

Fun Exercise and Health 

Activate Sport Club is Baobab Suites' sports center designed for those seeking physical well-being and enjoyment from exercise. 

Here, users can find services such as private and group classes by Ana Lozano Pilates and the Swimming School for children aged 0 to 6. It also has a team of highly qualified physiotherapists who provide assessment diagnostics and supervised training, whether to recover from an injury or simply to achieve a good physical condition. Additionally, there are four paddle tennis courts and a sandy area with two Beach Volley courts, where customers can play with friends and form their own teams. 

"This option is very popular with our guests and generates a lot of curiosity, as it is a social and very fun sport," explains Paola Alvaro, sports director of Activate Sport Club. And since sports involve a significant socialization factor, the hotel offers its customers and sports club users the possibility to enjoy a healthy breakfast with friends oriented to their physical activity at La Placita, a small kiosk with breakfasts, snacks, and drinks that has just updated its menu. 

In its endeavor to innovate, the Club now offers the option of Small Groups and new classes such as Ballet Fit, Pole Dance, and Aerial Yoga, thus differentiating itself from other conventional sports centers. In Small Group sessions, users receive training "according to their needs in small groups where we supervise each person's personal training, measurements, and advise on nutrition," details the club's sports director. 

Ballet Fit, on the other hand, is a discipline that combines pilates with fitness and basic ballet steps. All of this, explains Paola Alvaro, provides very beneficial postural correction for those who practice it. Furthermore, "its fusion with fitness is the perfect harmony of working from the inside out of the musculature."

Activate Sport Club is open to all types of audiences, both guests and external users. Various types of passes are offered to them. Non-residents have daily, weekly, and monthly passes. Hotel guests have access to the gym and fitness classes included, although they can opt for different options such as paddle classes, personal training, and pilates. 

 

Desayunos con Alma 

A healthy diet is one of the main factors for people's physical well-being. Breakfast, experts say, is the most important meal of the day, and at Baobab Suites***** we pay close attention to it. That's why we have created "Desayunos con Alma" to complement the hotel's gastronomic offer, which we presented at the last edition of Madrid Fusión. 

Unlike other accommodations, Baobab Suites***** offers its guests and users four different breakfast options. In addition to the one served at Bite Buffet, there is the In Suite Gastro option, gourmet breakfast boxes made with local products, providing an option for adults and another for children. These boxes are served in the suites for those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast in private. For those guests who do not want to get up early, a late breakfast is served at the BB Lounge Club restaurant, open until 12 noon. Finally, the offer is completed with breakfasts more oriented towards sports performance, served at Kiosk La Placita.

These four options, all different and planned according to the needs of each type of guest, make up the "Desayunos con Alma". "What we aim for is that our customer, depending on where they choose to have breakfast, leaves as happy as possible," says Máximo Concepción, chef of Baobab Suites*****. "In all the breakfasts, we tend to look for the healthiest options, controlling salt, sugars... We also offer as many zero-kilometer products as we can get, our own products, from here, from the island," which is one of the hotel's commitments to the local community of producers. Canarian artisan cheeses, fruits and vegetables from local suppliers, free-range eggs (present in all breakfast menus), along with avocado and a product that can only be tasted on the island, such as smoked wahoo. "It doesn't aim to replace smoked salmon, but it is a local product that we want to promote. Little by little, it is gaining more acceptance among our customers."

Guests and external users can customize their breakfasts based on a base menu. "They have different extras to choose from and put together as they please. That way, it's not so repetitive," explains the chef of Baobab Suites*****. The kitchen team led by Máximo Concepción adapts those ingredients to each customer's taste. "For example, if we offer boiled eggs in the box, but the customer wants it prepared differently, we do it. We are always open to making changes to satisfy them." 

Both chefs and the staff of Activate Sport Club participate in the preparation of these "Desayunos con Alma" especially for those menus designed for athletes. But the offer is far from closed, far from it. As the chef confirms, they continue to think and brainstorm about these menus to further perfect them and offer the best to their users. One of their plans, for example, is to indicate in the breakfast boxes the macros and nutrients of the foods they contain, so that each person knows what they are consuming and can adapt their menu to their own nutritional needs. 

"We are going step by step, trying to design and close chapters so that the customer is as satisfied as possible with the proposals we have," concludes the chef.
